Restaurant Review time featuring the Grey Goose Players Club

So I am tired of writing about sports and it takes too much time to accurately write about local sports when you have to actually see local sports.

So since I don't see much I figured I would write about local restaurants because I do eat out a lot.

I will write about everywhere from fine dining to fast food. I will tell you about the food and the service and anything else you need to know about.

I will always be honest to my readers, and we will see if these places catch on or if this blog catches on.

The first place that gets reviewed is the Grey Goose Players Club on Forsyth Rd.

I am definitely not a regular here but Friday I had a friend that wanted to try it, so we went.

It was a Friday around 1:00 pm and the Goose was crowded but not so crowded that you couldn't find a seat. The crowd was mostly seniors, with a few others scattered in . They also had a few families.

Now the Goose does have a bar area and then tables in a dining area and its is old timey comfortable.

When we arrived we ordered a sweet tea and the grouper bites as the appetizer. The sweet tea was perfect, not too sweet but not too flat. I had not seen this friend for awhile so we were just talking away , but we finally realized that our appetizer had not been brought to us and we had been there for 25 minutes. We both said okay they are busy and they are obviously having the same shortages as anyone else.

Finally the grouper bites came out and they we perfect. I am very picky and if I say something is perfect, well that is a big compliment. It was enough for two people that had a meal coming for sure.

So the problem is, we waited for our main dish for another 30 minutes. I am not lying about the times. I tend to keep track. However, once again our fish and shrimp and shrimp and oysters, along with fries came out almost perfect. I mean it was just very very good. The cole slaw sucked but everything else was great.

So I bragged about this place to my wife and I wanted to go back to see if a Saturday crowd would maybe speed up the service.

Unfortunately it did not.

After getting our tea, we ordered two appetizers and waited 45 minutes before we saw them. To make things worse, mine was supposed to be hot and it was cold. So they took it back and I waited another 20 minutes. Let me mention now that the restaurant was not the least bit crowded.

We figured after this wait that our main course would be out soon.

Unfortunately again , it was not. I kid you not when I say we waited another 40 minutes for our food to come out.

My fried oysters were undercooked and my wife's  French dip sandwich came out as something that looked much like a sandwich that you get at a convenience store. It was very disappointing.

The Grey Goose delivered great food the first day and mediocre food the second day. The corn chowder was very tasty but that was the highlight of the second day.

So here are my grades and since Ko does know sports he will rate by sports terms

Service- A huge fumble on the goal line when a touchdown wins the game

Food Quality- It would be like a kid who can only shoot three pointers. If he is on he is going to have a great game, but if he misses his first two he will probably struggle.

Time Frames- It would be like a football game that has four lightening delays. You will wait for the game all night long.

Prices- A two run inning in baseball, good job but we could have done better,

Any other questions please feel free to ask.
