ok ok ok, I was wrong
Someone called my last blog trash and I guess if you were going by my prediction, it was trash.
I only missed by ALOT
So I picked de Sales to win and Tattnall handled them 11-1
the worst pick of my career ?
Maybe so
But lets get a grip of why I even bother to make a pick like this. My question is why not. Mount de Sales had been playing great baseball and Tattnall was just playing like Tattnall. Unfortunately Tattnall being Tattnall is better than anyone around here by a long shot.
First of all, the pitcher I barely had heard of, Matt Blair, is just good. This kid has waited his chance for three years to get on the mound for Tattnall, and all year long he has been ace number two behind Garrett Houston.
To you Matt Blair, I apologize. I love a kid who waits his turn and takes advantage of the opportunity when it comes his way.
Tattnall is not all Logan Simmons:Simmons was 1-3 with two runs scored, but he didn't carry the offense. Luke Laskey had three hits, Austin Marchman had four hits, and Trey Ham hit a long homerun. Tattnall is strong up and down the lineup.
The Tattnall way works: The first thing out of Joey Hillers mouth is exactly why I thought Mount de Sales had a chance. He said that the most important thing about winning was to keep the seeding it has for the state playoffs. He doesn't have banners around the field celebrating region championships. But it was pretty evident that his kids were ready to play.
I really worry about Mount de Sales in the state playoffs. They will have to find an answer after being handled by Tattnall. They got decent starting pitching but they cant kick it around and expect to go too far. But Bubba Pool is a quality coach and he has eight seniors, so hopefully they will re-group and play better baseball.
Yes Tattnall faithful, my pick was wrong, but maybe it's not such a big deal. Maybe someone read it and maybe someone got pissed about it.

tattnall vs mds and a few other things
So it is less than 2 hours away from the Tattnall and Mount de Sales baseball game to see who is the region champion and I felt like I would go ahead and make a prediction.
That always seems to piss someone off.
Now I know that MDS has eight seniors on their team and a coach in Bubba Pool that has done a great job in leading the Cavs to a great season.
Great seasons in any sport at De Sales is a big thing, because well , they just haven't won much lately.
But that's another story.
MDS will throw one of its two aces, Adam Leverett today, while Tattnall used Garrett Houston against Stratford.
Will that make a difference ?
I believe it will.
Both teams have bigger fish to fry as they will head into the state tournament with a chance to make noise. Tattnall always makes noise while DeSales doesn't.
So in my eyes, this is just another game for Tattnall, buts its the biggest game of the season for Mount de Sales.
Ok Ok I know what you are saying. How is this not more than another game for Tattnall? Well these kids have played so many big games over the last two seasons that this is just another one. Joey Hiller will throw several kids and I hear a kid named Matt Blair will start. I admit I don't know much about him but maybe I will after this game. But they surely could have beat Stratford without throwing their number one.
This is Joey Hillers way of putting another kid in a pressure situation, to have another kid (or two) ready to pitch a big game later on down the road.
Tattnall can hit from 1 to 9 and have a possible high round draft pick next year , plus a catcher that will probably be highly recruited. Simmons, Ham, Laskey, and Marchman and several others will put runs on the board, but Leverett is a quality pitcher. Will they score enough on Saturday ?
The only thing stopping me from picking the easy upset is that De Sales had prom on Friday night and kids will be kids.
But the 2 pm start time should be enough and I just think this game means more to the Cavs than it does to the Trojans.
So I will pick it

and Joey Hiller will just beat them up and come back and win state.

FACTS
This is a blog about facts.
It will cover high school sports and a few other random things but everything in this blog is totally true.
At least in my mind.
FACT
Tattnall Square is the best baseball team in Middle Georgia. I have seen Veterans and Jones County and that is what leads me to say, without a doubt, that Tattnall is the best team in this area. Joey Hiller does it year in and year out, and he has a shortstop and a catcher that will probably both be drafted in upcoming years, plus he has strengths at almost every position. The pitching is still the question mark, but right now they are just cruising.
FACT
Mount de Sales is winning. Mount de Sales has been so down in everything lately , except volleyball, and I am sure that has been frustrating for Cavalier faithful. I could go into the quick reasons why De Sales is so down athletically across the board but I will not. Most people know why. But finally, a breath of fresh air has come up and that is the baseball team. Bubba Pool has found a way to win. He has a team with 8 seniors and he has 2 of the better pitchers in the area in Adam Leverett and Jack Lipson. They are currently cruising at 16-6 with sweeps over FPD and Stratford. I am looking for a decent little run for the Cavaliers in the state playoffs, but the question is, will they hit enough to be true contenders.

I really suck at golf
Its true I wont lie, I cant lie because too many people know it. I have played a few times in the last few weeks and a break of four months has surely not improved my game. Here's the deal. I can hit it a little bit but have no consistency whatsoever. I played yesterday and got off to a terrible start but then started playing a little better. I ever had a birdie when I stuck a sand wedges to within 8 feet on a par three from about 110 yards out. That was the highlight.
And why the hell am I so sore today. SMH

Torrez Finney is amazing
This kid is 5'7 and was a stud playing the defensive line at Jones County. Well guess what, 5'7 kids who play defensive line don't get opportunities to play college football very often. Hey guess what , Torrez Finney isn't any other kid. He is Torrez damn Finney, who walked on at UTC, got redshirted last year, and hey guess what, all of a sudden is battling for playing time as a fullback. He has 2 carries for 21 yards and he was quoted as saying,"Whoever wins the running back job can follow me through the hole and I will lead them to heaven.' Watch out world Torrez is on the loose..

I am still sad about the closing of LaBamba. I have found no replacement.

I haven't followed it too closely as of yet, but it seems like FPD and Stratford will have some classic battles coming up in tennis very soon. Two great coaches with two great teams shold make it a battle for a region title.

I am not happy the Sergio won the Masters. Why would I be, I am a gambling man and non of my money had Sergio on it.

The Braves are so questionable and I will tell you why. You have a bullpen led by Ian Krol and a bench that is led by Jace Peterson.. I could say more but I don't think I have to. They are much improved with the every day lineup, but the bench and pen is still far away from the smell of a contender.
