A day in the life

I have a lot of people that ask me what it's like to have 3 grown men staying at my house for an entire summer and all I can say to that question is "Well it's interesting for sure.
I know, its a pretty boring answer but it is really all I have at this point.
Sometimes I write because I feel like I need to get something on the blog, and other days I write because I just feel like it. Today I write for one reason only and that is because writing can be a very therapeutic stress reliever for me.
I am so stressed I want to scream but I know I would probably wake up at least a few tree branches and maybe even a dog. Who am I kidding the dogs are already awake, patiently waiting for their snack or two before I head to work. You see what too many people are learning is that if you stay in the Kosater house, you tend to get spoiled. Recently a friend I was talking to wanted to book a few nights in the Kosater Inns and Suites.
As many of you know I have three, yes three Macon Bacon players staying with me for the summer. Let me start by saying that they are all very nice young men and I enjoy having them around. But after living with just a wife, two dogs and two cats for the last few years, it is sometimes difficult to remember what its like to have others living with you. These are three athletes and athletes eat like, well they eat like athletes
I think it started when I woke up this morning and walked into the kitchen and found an empty egg carton on the table. I know that's really not a reason to stress out, but I know that I bought 30 eggs on Saturday to add to the 12 I had before I bought any.
That's 42 eggs gone in less than 42 hours. That is more than an egg an hour. That's an average of 14 eggs per 3 grown men in a 42 hour period of time.
If they only ate eggs for breakfast that would mean each of them had 7 eggs for breakfast for 2 days. That is a lot of eggs.
Now I don't want you all to think that I am complaining about the amount of food that these guys can eat. I think I just didn't realize what it would be like having 3 bacon players staying here. And believe me that's not the only stressor at this time. My first job is busy, my second job is busy , my third job is busy and well yes, my fourth job is busy too.
And to make matters worse I still have not found a sure fire answer to what I am going to do in the fall about my need to cover high school football.
But really truly, things are good.
Things I have learned from being a Bacon person.
These guys actually love Bacon, to the point of 4 pounds or more a week. They like bacon with their eggs and bacon with their steaks and bacon with their, well bacon. It is probably the number one staple on the menu.
These guys can drink some milk. MY kids drank a lot of milk but these guys are amazing. I have seen a gallon disappear in one seating between the three of them. . They drink it like its water, except its not water. If you actually buy chocolate milk it will be gone in the matte r of an hour. I thought milk was not that popular but I have been proved wrong. These guys could easily play for a team called the milk cows.
These guys love a game called fortnite and they love to sleep . If they play at home that night it is get home, eat, drink milk, play fortnite until all hours of the night, and if they have a home game the next day, sleep until about 2:30, get up and go play a game, then repeat. if its an away game, the only thing that is different id that they skip the sleep part. Fortnite for two of the three, is a must.
The most difficult thing about having three is everyone of the guys is different. I have one who didn't talk much when he came and still doesn't talk that much, and when he has a bad game he struggles with it. I have a talkative one who is all positive when it comes to his game and really doesn't stay down for long. Then I have the crafty one, a pitcher, who is very serious about what he does. He is a starting pitcher and starts every six to seven days, but he is in the gym almost every other day working his tail off.. He is intense but also has the laid back feel of a true California guy.
One thing I don't do is go upstairs too often. That's where they stay and the few times I have ventured that way has been scary. I will just say that boys are slobs and my upstairs proves that point.
I don't know if I would ever host three players again just because of the financial strain, but I can say it has made Bacon games more fun. I like having this vested interest in the team. I am down when one of them has a bad game, I am thrilled when one of them has a good game, and I am pissed when one of them or both of them don't play. I know they aren't my kids, but they are living in my hotel.
Any food donations can be sent to me by the way.
Does anyone have a cow ?

this and that

I have so much to write right now that I don't know where to start but I guess I will start with me.
I know it seems that I write about my weight loss and weight gain probably once a year and it is that time again.
Do I think you actually care about my weight loss or weight gain? Well I am thinking that a few of you actually do. I feel like weight issues are a part of most peoples lives these days so yeah maybe a few of you don't mind hearing about mine.
When young Mason Prince lived with me he often talked about his moms weight loss doing something called Keto. I mainly just blew him off because I don't really believe in any diet that says you can eat meat, egg, bacon, cheese and butter all the time. But then a close friend at job 1 started losing massive weight and sure enough she started talking about keto also.
So I figured I would try it.
Now here is keto in a nutshell.
breakfast- 2 eggs and bacon with cheese every single day.
snack- avocado
lunch- hamburgers with more cheese and usually squash with yes, more cheese
snack- pork rinds
dinner- another kind of meet or taco salad with more cheese and a vegetable of your choice with more cheese.
snack- cheese(duh)

That's how I did it at least.
Now, the key to this diet is to eat too much but not eat what you aren't supposed to eat.
You couldn't have sugar
You couldn't have bread
you couldn't have beer
you couldn't have fruit
you couldn't have pasta or rice
you couldn't have ice cream
you couldn't have cereal or milk
Debbie and myself live for 92 days with this way of eating. We doubted it at first but in the third week we went to Greensboro NC for four days and our diet consisted of ribs, veggies, hamburgers without the bread, and lots of waffle house. Yes I said waffle house.
4 times in the 4 days we were gone.
I had porkchops and eggs all four times but no hashbrowns and Debbie had 3 pieces of bacon and 3 eggs all four times.
We drank our water (nothing but water) and came home from that trip and we both had lost 5 pounds in those 4 days.
After that we were fairly hooked.
In the 92 days we stayed on it we probably told ourselves at least once a week that we were sick of this eating and were ready to quit. That thought would end when we stepped on the scale. In those 92 days I went from 291  to 258 and my wife went from,, haha , I cant tell you these numbers. Suffice to say, she is as small as she has been in 20 years or more.
We decided this week that it was time for a break from keto. I love the fruits of the season and I could not have watermelon or peaches, and anyone knows that I have a true passion for peaches. So we are officially off of keto and working on the eating smart way of life.
Don't judge me if you see me drinking a beer at the ballpark and don't judge me If you seem me eating a burger without the bread. I am just trying to be a better me and I think everyone should do that.
I am going to stay way from sugar and as much bread as I possibly can, but I am a happy man this week because I have had my fruits close by. That's how simple it is to make me happy.
